Northern Sky

I used oil paint. The artwork took me about 2 months to finish.

I rarely paint landscapes but this particular one is very special to me. It commemorates my trip to Norway and it captures the feeling I felt seeing that spectacular view. The first-hand feeling of being stress-free in the culture built around being stress-free.

I made this on my iPad Pro using Procreate.

I love how this software allows you to create digital art that borrows the elements and imperfections from more traditional art.

Nature’s Vibrancy

Nancy Natures Vibrancy
This is one of my first attempts at acrylic painting.

It depicts nature with its vibrant colors and the tree stands, even after shedding its leaves and flowers!!!

Yellow

Using watercolor, colored pencils, and my heart.

I captured the moment from memory when walking between those yellow rubber trees. I was inspired to copy them on paper.

Panel 4 from Neon Black, Issue 2

Paul Neon Black
Gouache, airbrush, colored pencils, and adjusted in Photoshop.

This is a painting for a comic book called Neon Black written by my buddy Kevin Briones. He also did the main and cover art. It’s about a girl who lost her parents and was adopted by the villains. I was given the opportunity to create the flashbacks. The story will span 4 books and Kevin’s currently working on the last 2.

One Sunny and Green Day

Ban Rak Sun One sunny and green day

Gouache on Baohong pure cotton paper.

I had a one-day trip to the Khlong Maha Sawat, Nakhon Pathom province in Thailand with friends. When we were exploring this area by boat, the weather was so sunny and the trees were embracing the boat. I would like to keep this beautiful memory so I painted it like this.

Countryside

Jocelyn Countryside

Gouache in a sketchbook

The challenge was to paint in the style of your favorite artist or artwork. I decided to paint the rural French countryside where I went on holiday. I was inspired by David Hockney’s iconic impressionist landscapes. The flowers at the farm reminded me of Van Gogh’s famous painting Irises thus I combined the influences of these two artists to create my painting.

Memories in a Bottle: Fox Glacier

Patricia Fox Glacier
Graphite pencils on A3 Bristol Vellum paper

I had been seeing photographers on Instagram putting seasons in jars. This inspired me to store some memories in a bottle for safekeeping. This is based on my own photograph from when I lived and worked in Fox Glacier, New Zealand.

This piece is the third of three dinosaur skeleton related landscapes. I have been practicing landscapes with a fantastic twist. You can view the other two pieces called 1. “The Giants of Old” and 2. “Stegosaurus Falls” in my links below.

Trippy Trees

Boris Trippy Trees
Micron pens on watercolor paper

I am bad at drawing landscapes so I had to make it interesting for myself. I started drawing from imagination but I needed something to structure my drawing and it hit me, why don’t I use a word? The word is hidden in the middle. Can you see it?
