BKK Unzine Issue 24 - Loss

It is cliche to say but it does really feel like we are just starting and there is a long way to go, we have been very lucky to have the support of artists and our readers and we hope only for it to continue.
Our team Maia, Venky, Jam and Boris are here to serve a lot more Artful delights from the very talented community. Now that the opportunities to meet in person are plenty, we are planning many events which will unite artists and art lovers, the first one being the BKK Comics Art Festival from May 2022.
You have stayed with us so feel free to tell us how we can improve ourselves as a free platform for artists.

Happy Trees

Piya - Thorns of Grief

Screen printing on paper
I like making various artworks on trees. When I stand by trees, I could be recharged and comfortable. I believe that trees are sharing their positive energies with me that they get from sun, rain, air, and soil. Making artwork on trees is like sharing those positive energies with others who appreciate my work. I wish you will feel happiness from Happy Trees.

Long Weekend

Piya - Thorns of Grief

2022, Acrylic on Canvas, 80 x 80
This painting depicts one of the BEST moments in the city. A LONG WEEKEND with so many people travelling away, upcountry or to the closest beaches, leaving a quiet and pleasant city behind. A great opportunity to discover hidden places, new coffee shops, or to just walk down to the tiny backyard condo pool, now abandoned and calm, and clean and bright. Free for a relaxing swim! The perfect state of peace and quiet. The BEST.

Piya - Thorns of Grief

Abstract psychedelic art created with j-wildfire, starryai, darkroom
This artwork was created from a fractal I made and I collaborated with an AI to transform it going through iterations until it satisfied with my vision. Nowadays it is easy to make nice images with AI but I like to put something graphical from me that is used by the AI rather than basic text to image prompt. It has to be a collaboration somehow for it to feel like my own art.

Hinata is not the most talented ninja in the world.
But she is clearly the best and sweetest person to her friends and to herself.

Dakini

Piya - Thorns of Grief

Pencil and pen
Many people may identify Dakini as goddess but by the book they are female Buddhas. In Vajrayana Buddhism, female energy takes an important roll. This fact made me feel so powerful and strongly about the Dakini energy inside myself. “My best” is not the quality of the artwork but how I feel toward what I draw. My art may not impact anyone or society but it impacts me and that what most matters.
