bkk UNZINE Issue 30

Loving MYSELF

Published: 1st February 2023

BKK Unzine Issue 24 - Loss

Was the theme for this issue “MYSELF” or “Loving MYSELF”? Well actually both and beyond. We do add “Loving” to show people that we do what we love when it comes to different themes and we encourage the others to do so. We have been calm for a few months but we promise we’ll organize more events in Bangkok and put ourselves on the map soon.

We thank you for the support. Stay tuned.

BKK UNZINE Podcast: Movies that help you understand yourself with Boris & Venky

bkk UNZINE

As an experiment, Boris(@Sketchmanboris) and Venky(@Venkyisliving) from bkk UNZINE editorial created a podcast episode discussing movies that inspired our pursuit of finding ourself. This is an attempt to inspire ourself to create something for the upcoming bkk UNZINE issue#30. We hope you enjoy it.

This flower represents beauty which is why many beauty salons and spas use this on their display boards. I drew this to show that I love my Thai culture and I love myself.

Myself under the warm tone

Again, I want to submit a picture of myself in the warm tone and warm light.
I heard from somewhere that the colors like red, orange, yellow are good for mental health.
And I agree with that, I love it.
I hope I’ll be able to create more shots like for the next photoshoot

Loving myself

I can’t tell you what you should do. I’m still looking for the right answer for myself too. I tried many methods of self-esteem. Even right now, I am still not successful but l what I can share with you is do not force yourself to be happy and take your time as much as you need. This is your life you deserve to be happy and be yourself. 💖

My Opinion:
We are given an identity truly, when we are identified by our loved ones. And so, I find my own identity or myself in my loved ones, which are my family and friends. Without them I won’t know who I really am.

LOVING MYSELF, Self-love. Mmmh ?? It sounds great but can we not start with something easier? Maybe just “enjoying myself”. This, at least, is exactly what so many people, families, groups of friends do on weekends all along Thailand’s coastline. Just get a bit of food out, and beer, sit near the beach, eat and enjoy the moment. Make life enjoyable and easy. Sabai Sabai.
Is this generally, speaking, self-love ?

Technique: Bead embroidery
Material: Plastic beads
When I started falling in love with jewelry making back to 2003 I used plastic crystal beads to practice. After that I shifted to Swarovski crystal beads and ended up with mineral stones.
This piece was challenging for me as I tried the shape “J” for my name “Jam” with multicolors. I spent my after school time experiment this. I never manage to wear them until 2022 I put it in a necklace form and started to wear it. I don’t really care if it fits the trend or not, I just want to show off my art 🙂

Laughing at myself

I created this character called Bobo to sort of make fun of myself when I cannot make sense of some things I do or encounter. I have to admit it has been very cathartic
