BKK Unzine Issue 24 - Loss

As our second group exhibition comes to a closing we would like to thank all the artists who participated and P space especially for being so kind and supportive by hosting our work and a couple of artists meetups.
We are still clueless of how the theme Fantasy hadn’t been selected until now, it is undeniably a source of endless inspiration. As expected we got dragons, a mythical volcano girl and an artist who has ventured into furry without knowing it.
We would like to kindly ask you to continue your support, follow us on instagram to stay up to date on the events we have coming up, watch our artist interviews on our youtube channel and of course check out our online issues right here on our website. Enjoy and see you next month.

My Dragon and I

Piya - Thorns of Grief

I always see the world around me with my fantasy filter on.

I see dragons everywhere , in all shapes and sizes.

This piece is done by digital painting over a photo I took when travelling to India.

Nature Blobs

Piya - Thorns of Grief

These two little characters were first created in 2017 and, unfortunately, I’ve since forgotten what inspired me to make them. While looking at old work I happened upon them and thought they deserved to be repainted and perhaps given their own story. We’ll see what becomes of them!

Piya - Thorns of Grief

I like skull soldier character the most in Dungeon monsters.

King of skull soldier is a wild and evil knight.

He is undead so he cannot be killed with weapons. Only Magic can kill the king of skull soldier.

My second submission is the Dragon, which is the strongest monster it the fantasy story. It may be the last boss to defeat in the game.

Volcano girl

Piya - Thorns of Grief

Inspired by my experience taking helicopter to  explore, I got this idea from seeing a volcano from the air.

The Royal Trio & A group of street cats as fantasy characters

Piya - Thorns of Grief

(top) These are my cats. All of them are former street cats from Bangkok.

Dumpling the shy Black prince. Kaoru the Princess and she knows it. Hikaru the knight causing all sorts of trouble.

(bottom)I have known and still know many street cats. Some have gone due to adoption or accidents but here is a picture of a few of them. It was nice to think of the cats character and how it might match a fantasy character. Know I have one picture that can remind me of my memories of the street cats. I wish I could or will open a cat cafe one time to be able to help more street cats.

Moose the messenger

Fur and fantasy

Piya - Thorns of Grief

Brush pen and tech pens on sketchbook

I am working on a series that I have created called Wolves of Bangkok where we follow through different episodes the stories of four friends who are werewolves. Each werewolf is stuck at a stage of transformation hence they have different personalities. This werewolf looks most like a wolf. This page is from an episode called “I’M SINGO”.

But before I knew I had to take a step back and realize that I have drawn fur fantasy.
