bkk UNZINE founder Sketchman Boris met Matteo Gaspari when we were invited to Taichung in Taiwan and was immediately inspired by his enthusiasm about comics. When we started researching for this interview did we learn that Matteo has touched almost every aspect of comics-making. This was such a great chat, even with the missing recording from zoom. Storyboard Artist Dynnaro You on connecting with artists in Bangkok

We were sad to see a companion from the studio leave us, but we have a feeling that he will be back soon. Originally from Boston, USA, Dynnaro You came to stay in Bangkok for a while and has become a close friend and contributor to our art studio in Bangkok, UNZINE 95, where this leisurely interview was recorded.

Interview with Writer, Comics Scriptwriter and Activist Frédéric Debomy

During the BKK Comics Art Festival #3 in October 2024, we exhibited pages from Myanmar, The Last Stand, published by Slowork Publishing, back in 2022. Shortly afterward, bkk UNZINE founder Sketchman Boris was invited to Taichung for the Golden Comic Awards and bought a copy of the book there. In wonderful synchronicity, we were then contacted by Frédéric Debomy, the book’s author, who was in Bangkok and expressed interest in connecting with us. Frédéric graciously visited our studio UNZINE 95 and sat for this interview.


Interview with Cartoonist Juliette Yu-Ming Lizeray

Juliette Yu-Ming Lizeray is a Comic Artist from Singapore who was kind enough to come visit our newly established comic studio UNZINE 95 in Bangkok, which at the time of this interview had not yet been named. She talked about her love for comics, her autobiographical comics and also recommended comics and comics artists from Singapore. GOWWLI: Experimental folk rock band in Auroville, India

We had the chance to talk to Magesh, the manager of the band GOWWLI, an indie folk rock band in Auroville, India. They organize an open mic every Friday to jam with other artists in an effort to give other talents a chance to showcase their creativity on stage.
