ISSUE 49 - published SEPTEMBER 2024
This issue is an invitation to join us at our group exhibition at Studio FLUFF, which will kick off on Friday the 6th of September 2024 .
Studio Fluff is destined to nurture creativity in art and martial arts.
After a long conversation and an even longer time to process the good intentions of this new community space, this was the natural theme that came to mind in so many aspects, from the founder’s background, to the Jiu Jitsu they are teaching. We wanted to set a beacon of hope to call art warriors to honor the fighters who have fought and are still fighting the good fight so we can all have a safe space to enjoy art and come together to discuss our social projects and to do good in our own small ways.

MEOWTASTIC FOUR & ALAN
by GEMSTONE
Dumpling: Fencing. For my cry baby I think he would enjoy hiding behind the mask.
Hikaru: Brazilian Jiu – Jitsu. The one who rolls around when he is playing fighting.
Kaoru: Ninja. Loves to climb everything.
Mousse – Gladiator. Ready to defend herself even if she is the smallest. But the licks make sure everyone knows she secretly loves them.
Alan is an 8 week old baby who survived two dogs chasing him and biting him. My other four cats have been very gentle whilst he recovers and get used to the room. Alan would suit being a boxer.

FLY AS ME
by FUTURELOVES.ME
Medium : Digital Art – 21*18 inches / 300 dpi
This artwork was inspired by the fighting we have with our past that we have to overcome as we grow up each day, like with a skateboard, the thing we will fight or overcome the most in this sport is ourselves. There are 3 flowers: the first flower is a smiling face with buck teeth, which represents the past self that may have no confidence; the second flower is wearing glasses, which means that we see through bright and beautiful lenses (perhaps I’m being a little optimistic); and the last flower is a bounce out of the same place or the same old thing that we used to be. The artwork is also available as acrylic on canvas, size 40 x 50 cm.

A MELODY OF PAIN AND GRACE

Inspired by the song “Believer” by Imagine Dragons, the artwork evokes a sense of struggle and resilience. Her stance, both powerful and delicate, reflects a battle fought not for glory or fame, but for the courage to face another day. Showcasing a melody of inner turmoil and strength. This piece is a visual symphony of the internal struggle, portraying the silent wars we wage within ourselves, and the resilience that keeps us moving forward.
